The second International Conference on Environmental Pollution, Restoration and Management will be held in Hanoi on 4-8 March 2013. DHI Singapore will be attending this conference, in a bid to boost our knowledge sharing efforts in the region.

In the session titled ‘Environmental ecotoxicology’, we will present one poster showcasing specific data to support dynamic chemical regulations in the region. These will help to recommend the usage of local seawater tropical algae, crustaceans and fish species. We will also be conducting a talk in the session titled ‘Environmental Management and Policy’. There is increasing regulatory pressure in order to protect marine environments. Consequently varied methodologies are being put into place, to impose these regulations. Our talk will highlight the risks of confusion that may arise from such multiple methodologies.

We have been constantly striving to share our knowledge and consolidate our research prowess. DHI Singapore has been conducting research in Southeast Asia to promote marine ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment of chemicals. Last September, we attended the SETAC Asia Pacific meeting in Japan, where we presented four posters as well.
