Hydropower forecasts for European energy traders

Enermet is a new platform for the European energy trading business, providing traders with the necessary long-term weather and energy information.

DHI has joined the consortium and will provide accurate forecasts of the hydropower potential in selected countries of the Alps, thereby adding key information to Enermet’s existing weather and energy forecasts. The system is based on a methodology that has previously been developed by DHI for the Scandinavian countries.

“Hydropower being the most flexible way to produce power, being able to predict the hydro reservoir levels is key to trade on continental power markets” says Richard Katz, Sales director of Powernext, which is part of the Enermet platform.
