DHI hosted panel meeting as part of HYDRALAB+ consortium

DHI hosted the User Selection Panel (USP) meeting for the facility providers of HYDRALAB+ on 3 to 4 May 2016.

During the meeting, members of the consortium received and reviewed 80 proposals applying for access to the hydraulic facilities of HYDRALAB+. Only 12 out of these 80 proposals were selected and gained access to the facilities due to their merits and relevance to the theme ‘Adaptation to Climate Change’.

DHI is accompanied by nine other companies and universities in providing facilities for hydraulic projects. This list includes Deltares, Aalto University, French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), HR Wallingford, Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA), Leibniz University of Hannover, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, University of Hull and Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

Funded by the European Commission (EC), HYDRALAB+ is an infrastructure network for experimental research institutions in the field of environmental hydraulics and hydrodynamics. As a member of the consortium, DHI provides access to our hydraulic experimental facilities; namely the shallow water basin and offshore wave basin.

The USP meeting held in DHI Denmark office marked the first call for proposals to attain access to the testing facilities—the second call will be issued 1 September - 2 December 2016.
